I have a UK Blue Badge does that reduce the amount I have to pay?Many customers buying in Spain will have a UK Blue Badge, but this is not recognised by the Spanish government and does not therefore affect prices.

I am registered disabled in the EU but outside of Spain, does that help?Some customers buying in Spain may be registered as disabled in their country of origin but this is not recognised by the Spanish government and therefore does not reduce buying prices,

How do I get a Spanish Certificate of Disability?The Spanish Certificate of Disability (Certificado de Discapacidad) is issued by the provisional authority and initially requires an approved medical doctor in Spain to issue an evaluation of disability. Providing you are an official Spanish Resident you can then apply. Most wheelchair users will meet the criteria of 33% disability or more to qualify. However, as you are probably aware bureaucratic processes in Spain can be tediously slow. Depending on your location, such applications can take up to two or more years to process! Most ExPats with disabilities living in Spain do not have one.
